China-Hungary International Cooperation Roadshow Successfully Held| Deepening Pragmatic Cooperation in Sci-Tech Innovation Field
On March 31, 2025, the China-Hungary International Cooperation Roadshow, co-hosted by the Management Committee of Chaoyang Park of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park (ZGCP), Coway International TechTrans Co.,Ltd. (“Coway”), and Zhongguancun Enterprises Service Office in Hungary (ZEOSO), was held successfully at the East Lake International Center (EIC). Focusing on cutting-edge fields such as healthcare, AI, recycling economy, aircraft and digital solutions, the event attracted the participation of representatives from Chinese and Hungarian governmental agencies, science and technology enterprises, investment institutions and scientific research institutes, and set up an efficient docking platform for deepening the scientific and technological innovation cooperation between the two countries.
Focusing on Strategic Opportunities, Talking about New Cooperation
The year 2025 will mark the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary, and the cooperation between the two countries will continue to deepen under the framework of the “ Belt and Road Initiative” and Hungary's “ Open up to the East” strategy. According to the data, China's direct investment in Hungary accounted for 58% of its total foreign investment in 2023, making Hungary one of the most important investment destinations for China in Central Eastern Europe. The participation in the program has built an efficient docking platform for deepening the cooperation in science, technology and innovation between the two countries.
During the event, Ms. Réka Oláh-Paksi, Commissioner of the Export Development Department of the Hungarian Ministry of Innovation and Technology, delivered a keynote speech, systematically elaborating on Hungary's import and export development in strategic areas such as intelligent equipment manufacturing and biomedicine. Ms. Li Taohong,Vice President of Coway International TechTrans Co.,Ltd. then demonstrated the company's internationalization, professionalization, and market-oriented operation capability and shared the excellent achievements of Coway in the field of international technology innovation. The event highlighted eight high-quality technology projects, which aroused enthusiastic responses from participants, Pyrolytic Carbonization of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Waste to Produce Hydrochloric Acid breaks through the traditional plastics treatment problems and converts PVC waste into recyclable hydrochloric acid through high-temperature decomposition, which is both environmentally friendly and economically beneficial; Innovative Structural Solution to Eliminate the Vortex of Aircraft Propellers and Wind Turbine Blade Tips, which can improve the aerodynamic efficiency of aircrafts by 13%, significantly reduce noise and vibration, and provide new paths for the development of green aviation; The TFR123 Immunity Platform opens up a new direction for personalized immunotherapy by optimizing antigen presentation technology and enhancing the immune response to low-immunogenic antigens; and projects such as Prefixbox, an artificial intelligence personalized search platform, and a photocatalytic air disinfection device demonstrate the potential for innovation in the field of digital technology and health.
Discussing the future of cooperation
The Hungarian delegates included Dr. Mogyorósi Péter Pál, an expert in innovation management and CEO of LC Innoconsult International, and Tapodi Antal, CEO of Neo-Antigen.During discussion, Dr. Péter said, “Hungary's scientific research advantages in the field of laser technology and nanomaterials are highly compatible with the needs of the Chinese market. It is necessary to strengthen the synergy between industry, academia and research, and incubate more cross-border innovation projects, and also we are looking forward to promoting more technological achievements to the Chinese market in the near future.”
