Coway’s Twenty Years

" The 20 years of Coway are 20 years of opening up." Dr. Tan summed up the pace of Coway, "Before the year of 2000, our technical level was very low, it mainly introduced complete sets of equipment, and our own enterprises did not have research and development capabilities. But today, with the improvement of our own ability, slowly began to introduce less mature technology, we can see that after a lot of technology introduction, the diffusion of innovation occurs in China. The application of the technology has a very big industrial effect."

Technology commercialization is a very high threshold and relatively narrow industry, but the successful cases of Coway's technology commercialization can still find a very clear benchmark.

In July 2004, relying on the new energy transportation technology of Tsinghua University, Coway invested 2.46 million yuan to establish Beijing Qingneng Huatong Technology Development Co., Ltd., specializing in the research and development and industrialization of new energy transportation technology, and created the following milestone achievements: China's first hydrogen refueling station, China's first batch of hydrogen energy vehicles, and China's first hydrogen energy vehicle base. This company is now the "first share of China's hydrogen energy" Yihuatong on the science and technology innovation board. On December 15 this year, Yihuatong passed the hearing of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and confirmed its landing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

In addition, there are many "firsts": the world's first natural gas pressure backward equipment, the country's first carbon neutral natural gas reserve regulator station, The country's first hydrogen refueling station and demonstration park, First construction of China's innovation station, The first scientific and technological achievements through train of the Ministry of Science and Technology, The first International Technology Transfer Forum in Beijing, Participated in the preparation of the first set of books on collaborative innovation in mainland China, as well as industry and group standards.

This is closely related to Tan Hongxin's own efforts. After graduating from Tsinghua University with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Tan has been engaged in international economic and technical cooperation since 1993, and with his specific participation and promotion, many established channels of cooperation have been set up between the technology transfer agencies of China and EU countries.

In August 2013, Coway International TechTrans Co., Ltd., together with Texas A&M in the United States and the Export and Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Wallonia in Belgium (AWEX), initiated the establishment of OWIN to accelerate the globalization process of scientific and technological innovation companies and help enterprises enter the markets of member countries. In 2014, Coway and the European International Technology Innovation Association launched a China office in China to promote the soft landing of foreign enterprises and the going global of domestic enterprises, and strengthen cooperation and exchanges in the field of innovation and technology transfer between China and the EU.

From technology commercialization to technology localization to technology import and export, as a professional service provider of technology commercialization and international technology transfer, Coway International TechTrans Co., Ltd., led by Dr. Tan, is becoming a bridge between global technology and Chinese enterprises in this extremely challenging field of professional ability.
