Tsinghua-PUC Joint Symposium on "Best Practices in Technology Transfer and Innovation" Successfully Concluded

On April 18, 2024, the Tsinghua-Latin America International Technology Transfer Working Group convened its spring cooperation meeting with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC Chile) at Li Hua Building, Tsinghua University.

Tsinghua-Latin America International Technology Transfer Working Group was established jointly by Tsinghua Technology Transfer Institute, Tsinghua Latin America Center, and Coway International TechTrans Co., Ltd., this working group drives institutional innovation in technology transfer between Tsinghua University and Latin American countries including Chile, Peru, and Mexico. It aims to demonstrate research universities' contributions to global tech commercialization through both theoretical frameworks and practical implementations, thereby enriching China-Latin America cooperation.

The meeting was honored by the presence of Prof. Pedro Bouchon, Vice President of PUC Chile. Tsinghua delegation included Prof. Chen Taotao, Director of Tsinghua Latin America Center, Ms. Wang Yan, Dean of Tsinghua Technology Transfer Institute, Ms. Li Jiaoli, Senior Manager of Tsinghua Technology Transfer Institute, Ms. Li Taohong, Deputy General Manager of Coway International TechTrans Co., Ltd., Mr. Fan Jiwei, PhD Researcher at Tsinghua Latin America Center.

The dialogue focused on Comparative analysis of tech commercialization systems: IP management frameworks in cross-border technology transfer, Actionable measures to advance bilateral collaboration, Exploration of sustainable cooperation mechanisms.

Prof. Chen concluded by acknowledging the working group's accomplishments in establishing robust bilateral partnerships, expressing confidence that mutual learning and complementary strengths would yield new breakthroughs in international tech commercialization cooperation.
