Curing Agents
Curing Agents are an essential component in coatings, especially in reactive coatings (such as epoxy coatings and polyurethane coatings). Curing agents facilitate the curing reaction by reacting with film-forming materials (like resins), thereby enhancing the coating's hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and durability.
Amine curing agent
Features:
High reactivity, curable at room temperature.
Good compatibility with epoxy resin, easy to mix.
Its flexibility and weather resistance can be improved by chemical modification (such as addition reaction).
Function:
Provide rapid cross-linking to form a high-strength cured structure.
Curing can be achieved in a low temperature environment to meet different construction needs.
Application scenarios:
Coatings: used for indoor and outdoor anti-corrosion coatings, floor coatings, etc.
Adhesives: electronic component potting glue, structural adhesives.
Composites: wind turbine blades, aviation composite matrix.
Advantages:
Rapid curing: suitable for scenes that need to be cured in a short time.
Excellent adhesion: good adhesion to a variety of substrates.
Low cost: suitable for large-scale industrial production.
Anhydride curing agent
Features:
The curing reaction is slow and usually requires heating for curing.
The cured material has outstanding high temperature resistance and chemical resistance.
Low viscosity, easy to process and pour.
Function:
Provide excellent thermal stability and chemical resistance.
It can give epoxy resin high strength and rigidity.
Application scenarios:
Electrical insulation materials: used for transformers, capacitors and insulator casting.
Industrial coatings: high-performance protective coatings, such as the inner and outer walls of pipes and tanks.
Composite materials: composite parts working at high temperatures.
Advantages:
Strong heat resistance: the cured product can be used for a long time in high temperature environments.
High chemical stability: excellent acid and alkali resistance and corrosion resistance.
Excellent mechanical properties: suitable for high strength and high rigidity application requirements.
Polyurethane curing agent
Features:
Usually generated by the reaction of isocyanate and polyol.
Can form a composite system with epoxy resin to improve flexibility.
Excellent weather resistance and UV resistance.
Function:
Improve the flexibility and impact resistance of the epoxy system.
Increase wear resistance, anti-aging performance and service life.
Application scenarios:
Anti-corrosion coatings: used in scenes where anti-corrosion protection is required, such as ships, bridges, and tanks.
Floor coatings: used in scenes where high wear resistance is required, such as industrial floors and parking lots.
Elastic coating: used in special coatings for waterproofing, shockproofing and anti-slip.
Advantages:
Strong weather resistance: suitable for outdoor use, resistant to light aging and UV radiation.
Excellent flexibility: gives the cured material good crack resistance and impact resistance.
Versatility: can be combined with other systems (such as epoxy resin) to form high-performance composite materials.
